Tamara Comolli is a designer and jeweler born in Munich and currently residing in Sylt, Rottach-Egern at Lake Tegernsee, Germany. The high-end jewelry designer offers beautifully crafted pieces in precious metals like solid 18k gold and with a focus on beautiful and vibrant gemstones.
For this upcoming Valentine’s Day, her “Blush” Collection items are truly an exquisite gift to give a loved one. With her signature acorn-shaped gemstones, find bracelets, necklaces, rings, and earrings in nude, rose, and red hues that create a stunningly elegant jewelry piece. Many of her items are also detailed with diamonds in a pave setting. Inspired by nature and the ocean, her designs have a glamorous and soft aura. If your loved one prefers other colors, her entire jewelry selection features other gemstones in blue, purple, orange, green, and yellow.
She sources extremely rare and one-of-a-kind tourmalines, aquamarines, and more gemstone variations that are hand-picked and inspected before setting onto the jewelry piece. An extraordinary gift to give!
Matthew Harris
Mathew Harris was born and raised in Montego Bay, Jamaica and moved to New York at the age of 16 where he discovered his talent and impeccable taste for jewelry design.
He launched his men’s jewelry brand, Mateo New York, in 2009 and shortly after expanded to women’s designs following the success of his initial launch. Featured in the image are 3 pairs of cufflinks that are truly unique items inspired by his concept of a “working man’s toolbox.” The men’s selection does not stop there, browse necklaces, bracelets, and earrings crafted from fine metals and gemstones.
The women’s collections cannot be without mention, especially the “Baroque Pearl Collection” with asymmetrical pearls set in solid 14k gold pieces. The iridescent shimmer of the pearls is to die for!
Marco Bicego
What is a jewelry gift guide without made-in-Italy luxury jewelry? Marco Bicego is from a family of jewelers that created a business that handcrafts every piece of jewelry in Trissino, a province in the Veneto region of Northern Italy.
The items embody the historic and superb Italian craftsmanship tradition yet are rendered in modern and contemporary designs. Italy is world-renown for its 18k solid pieces, which Marco Bicego puts at the forefront of all his items.
For Valentine’s Day, browse the “Gift Guides” page of their site and surprise your special person with a high-end gift.
Natalio Barquet
When thinking of high-end jewelry, often big cities come to mind: New York, Paris, Milan. Yet, there are high-end jewelry designers that can spark inspiration for a truly unique jewelry gift. Born in Havana, Cuba, but arriving in San Juan, Puerto Rico at 7, Natalio Barquet and his family have been in the jewelry trade since 1920.
In 2009, Natalio launched his own line and registered brand: Coquí el Original®. His designs, crafted in solid 14k gold and sterling silver .925, are all inspired by Puerto Rico’s nature and beauty.
The flagship collection is the one featuring the Coquí Tree Frog, a native species to the island that sings “ko-kee” at night and is smaller than a penny in size. You can shop bracelets, rings, charms, pendants, cufflinks, and earrings with the frog. In addition to his Puerto Rico frog jewelry, Natalio also created the Sun, Leatherback-Sea Turtle, Puerto Rico Map, and Salsa Dancers Collections. This is a great gift to give that supports a small business.
Sara Beltrán
From El Paso, Texas, Sara Beltrán is a high-end jewelry designer that does stunning work with both conventional and unconventional materials.
While she has pieces that are crafted in solid 18k gold with genuine diamonds, her true versatility and unique work is best seen on her pieces crafted from things like shark fins, tiger eye, shells, corals, wood, quartz, topaz and more. Her webpage truly holds so many striking pieces it is practically impossible to settle on just one gift. Most of her motifs are ocean-inspired, and the collection “Coquito” that stands for “little coconut” is unparalleled. The collection of necklaces includes naturally produced little coconuts that then are set with a precious gemstone and placed on a solid 18k gold chain in rose, white, or yellow.
While on the page also checkout the “Wave” Collection featuring gorgeous seashells set in gold with gemstones as well as diamonds. Definitely the choice if you have an ocean lover partner!
Lorena Pestana
Peruvian designer Lorena Pestana is an absolute artist! She both designs and crafts these exquisite and petite high-end pieces crafted from 18k gold, sterling silver .925, bronze, and colored crystals. Lorena graduated with a concentration in Architecture and then quickly found her talents in jewelry-making.
She resided for a while in Santa Maria de Nieva, Alto Marañon, which is deep in the Peruvian Amazon. There, she researched artisanal techniques and traditions of the Aguaruna community, considered one of the most important of the Peruvian Amazon. She settled in Miraflores, Lima in 2002 and established her first atelier which has been successful ever since.
Browse all her gorgeous collections inspired by natures beauty and give a gift rich in native Peruvian meaning and culture.
Bianca Abreu
On her webpage, right off the bat you see a video of Bianca turning on a torch and firing glass as she meticulously molds it into the shape she wants.
Bianca received her BFA in sculpture from the acclaimed Pratt Institute with a concentration on installation. You can see her studies and talent coming into play in her amazing jewelry. She creates jewelry that plays with color, light, and optics fabricated from her choices of glass and metals. The artist offers both permanent collections and one-of-a-kind pieces to shop from.
These are truly miniature installations- the Axle Shift Earrings actually spin! A fashionable, high-end, and fun gift to give.
Lola Oladunjoye
Lola Oladunjoye founded Lola Fenhirst in 2015 with a focus on very high-end, small batches jewelry collections and designs.
Pieces are produced in Paris and are inspired by her Anglo Nigerian and West-African background. She exquisitely creates traditional Yoruba motifs using the best European jewelry-making techniques. She also sources her precious materials ethically from conflict-free zones in Bostwana, Canada, Namibia, and South Africa. This ethical focus is also the reason why most of her items are predominantly made to order. For these outstanding pieces, the wait is worth it. While the image is illustrating her “Pit” Collection, take a look at her Sybil designs- truly spectacular, marvelous, and stunning.
Is jewelry made in the city of love not perfect for Valentine’s Day? Yes, it is!
Moushe by Nabiha Yousuf
Movement, color, fun, and bold! Nabiha works with artists based in Pakistan to create her pieces from recycled gemstones and gold.
Another great designer focusing on sustainable practices. The jewelry designer’s pieces are vivacious, combining red, purple, green, blues in either fluid or cubic shapes. A piece that stands out is her Lunar Eclipse Ring in sterling silver, gold vermeil, and a beautiful luminescent opal stone at its center.
A unique designer to gift for Valentine’s Day!
Anna Hu
Last, but certainly one of the most extravagant, is designer Anna Hu. Born in Tawain and then educated in prestigious institutions such as Parsons, Columbia, and the Gemological Institute of America, Anna Hu creates not high-end jewel, but what is now deemed as high jewelry.
High jewelry means it becomes the ultimate and finest expression of jewelry. See the Monet Water Lily Necklace above, it took 10 years to make and has over 2,000 gemstones. Anna opened her boutique at the age of 30 after working for other big brand name high jewelers like Van Cleef & Arpels and Harry Winston.
To be able to purchase one of her items you need to book an appointment at her New York studio. Her jewelry inspiration is combining both Eastern and Western traditions and culture. Truly masterful works. There’s about a month until Valentine’s Day, get to booking!
