Money is Not an Object
More than ever, we are seeing a steep increase in the purchase of luxury goods. Irrespective of ethics, for a few yet a growing number of shoppers, money is not an object. Preference and status symbols seem to be gaining traction as the number one consideration among wealthy buyers that aren’t too pressed about comparing price tags. They like it, they buy it. Maybe you’ve asked yourself, why would anyone purchase a $100,000 bag made from materials that might not justify the inflated price? It is as simple as shoppers that like it and buy it. At that level of wealth, preference seems to be their number one influence when purchasing luxury goods.
The Rise in Quite Luxury
Long-standing luxury brands like Hermes, Tiffany, Louboutin, etc. continue to have a massive impact within the fashion world. There is a trend, however, called “quite luxury” that has shoppers of high purchasing power choosing luxury brands that aren’t as known or items within luxury brands that do not signal they are from said brands. Again, quite luxury showcases a dynamic of choosing preference as a main driver of purchase.
What about regular Shoppers?
We are living in a time where quite literally we are oversaturated with options. Price is still the number one influence on customers who are looking to buy goods and services. The good news is the power still lies in comparison, and oh boy do we have options! The comparison between goods and services will ultimately lead you to a purchase that you feel confident about because it was informed and did not break your bank account!
As the holiday season approaches, keep in mind thoughtful and intentional gift giving is what creates fond memories, regardless of price!
¡Salud y Éxito!
