Tips, packing, transport, accounts to follow

Tips

• Make sure where you choose your lodging has a power generator (short-term rentals like Airbnb).
• Cash or ATH Movil are in most cases only methods for parking lots. 
• There’s no Venmo, Zell, Cash App in PR businesses. 
• Always compare pricing for similar goods and services before choosing. 
• Arrive early at any beach (metro area or outside) if you need parking. 

Transport

• If you’re planning to venture outside the metro area, rent a car. If you’d prefer not to drive, book private tours for specific trips with touring companies that arrange transportation (El Yunque Rainforest, the Caves, etc.)
• Parking in Puerto Rico is hard. If you want to explore San Juan early, arrive before 10am. After 5pm on weekends it becomes very hard. 
•  If you plan on being only in the metro area, it is best to Uber everywhere to not worry about parking. 

Packing

• Bug spray for mosquitoes.
• Sunblock 
• Hats and parasols for extreme heat.
