Coquí el Original® Jewelry Collections

Coquí el Original® has 5 beautiful collections inspired by our Caribbean island: Coquí, Sun, Leatherback Sea-Turtle, Salsa, and Map Collections. Undoubtedly, the Coquí Collection is the most popular. The Coquí is a small tree frog endemic to Puerto Rico found all over the island. They get their name because of the distinctive sound they make during the night “co-ki.” While you may find other tree frog species around the world, the coquí is a strong cultural symbol for us Boricuas (another term for someone from Puerto Rico). The Coquí Collection is the most robust one because of its popularity with both locals and travelers. Just in pendants and charms alone, we have over 6 variations of our coquí design. What we name the “Classic Coquí Pendant” comes in 3 sizes and 2 finishes. You can pick a polished coquí pendant, which is best for clients who love jewelry that sparkles. Otherwise, you can pick the matte finish for a sleek look. The matte tends to be more popular as the polished eyes and legs of the coquí render a beautiful contrast. The 3 sizes from smallest to largest are: Petite, Mini, and Classic. While all 3 sizes are smaller than a penny, for minimalistic lovers, we recommend the Petite and Mini sizes. Clients looking to showcase their Coquí pendant will prefer the Classic size.

Charm Compatibility and Quality

The other 14k gold variations of our coquí piece are the charm-styles. All of our charm styles are compatible with chains up to 4mm thick and with bracelets from Pandora, Brighton, Chamilia, and Troll Beads. For those who love charms to dangle, we offer the Coquí with an enlarged bail to make it compatible with these brands. As with the Classic Pendant, you can choose between a matte or a polished finish. Like in silver, we offer the Reversible Coquí Bead in the full 14K gold, with one side matte and the other side polish. All of our 14k gold coquí pieces come with gorgeous diamond eyes.
