The National Flower of Puerto Rico
Not to be confused with the hibiscus flower (“la amapola”), the Maga flower is the national flower of Puerto Rico. This flower grows on the Maga Tree, and comes in hues of pink, red, and burgundy. At the end of their filaments the Maga typically has yellow anthers (what look like little yellow flowers growing outwards of the pistil).
High-End Jewelry in Old San Juan
At Coquí el Original® we are thrilled to offer this new collection, which continues to expand our designer, high-end repertoire of luxury jewelry items inspired by Puerto Rico’s nature and beauty. Our mission as a small business located in the historic center of Old San Juan is to offer unique pieces that will be cherished forever.
Maga Flower Jewelry in Solid 14K Gold
To stay as close to the look of the Maga Flower, the first jewelry items we designed are in solid 14k rose gold. We typically focus on solid yellow gold. The lustrous effect of the flower design is stunning. We are renowned for minimalistic details; therefore, we created the pistil with diamonds and yellow sapphires at the end, emulating what are called the anthers (mentioned above). We curved the pistil to somewhat flatten the design in order to avoid the flower getting caught while in use.

The Maga Flower is available to order as a pendant and as petite stud earrings. The 14k rose gold pendant comes with a solid 14k rose gold rolo chain about 1mm thick (very thin). We also offer the Maga Flower Designs in solid sterling silver .925 for silver lovers. The silver earrings and pendant also feature diamonds and yellow sapphires at the end of the pistil. While a small collection now, we are planning on adding more options. Clients have shown great intrigue and interest in the Maga Flower during its early launch.
